Munich, 1968: 21-year-old Laura, who has emigrated to the USA with her husband Gabriel, returns to her old home in Munich. Laura's father has been killed in a traffic accident a few days earlier. Her younger sister Friede is in a coma. Overwhelmed by the pain, her mother has withdrawn from the outside world. Laura feels abandoned, as she had hoped that the shared grief might help to overcome the tense relationship between her and her mother. Throughout her life, her mother was incapable of empathizing with her children and avoided any physical closeness. When her mother refuses to visit the critically injured Friede in hospital, Laura forces her into a confrontation in the hope of gaining a better understanding of her mother.

The film is the story of an adventurous friendship between two very different young women, Nele and Rona.

Twenty-three-year-old Lena lands a lead in Sartre’s “No Exit” while endlessly seeking love. Her call‐girl friend Becky convinces her to try prostitution, plunging Lena into a bizarre free‐love world of surreal encounters. Christof Müller continues as a prospective student with the train from Augsburg to Munich. Already when Enrolling he is intercepted by the artist life “sports fan”, who introduced him to so many university internals. Along with “Justus von Liebig,” he runs a practice for student hardship cases, but is mostly just drunk and fooling around. Christof lives with his cousin Brigitte, who is behind him, and with him is intimate. In between, he will perform the little fairy and goes with her to the zoo. Because the girl wants not just to the ladies room, he must call and reap evil suspicions of passers-by.
