Pat, the evasive, androgynous character made famous on Saturday Night Live by Julia Sweeney, was an inescapable figure in 1990s pop culture. As a child, filmmaker Ro Haber became obsessed with Pat—a character whose popularity stemmed from making others uncomfortable by defying gender norms. Decades later, and now an out trans filmmaker, Haber still grapples with Pat’s legacy. Thirty-five years after It’s Pat first aired, Haber assembles a group of queer and trans comedians, writers, and even Sweeney herself to revisit the character. Through conversation and critique, they aim not to erase Pat but to reframe them, transforming a symbol of ridicule into one of reflection and empowerment.

A hopeless romantic and their friends contrive a meet-cute at NYC’s queer beach, but chaos, dysphoria, and unexpected connections reshape their quest for love. Intercut with footage of the real community of beach-goers at Riis, the film is a love letter to “The People’s Beach.”

A group of friends gathers at a remote cabin to hold a séance for their late friend, Willa. Scout (early 30s, they/them) wants to keep the peace, but tensions are high, Renee (early 30s, they/them), Willa’s ex, is desperate to connect with her, while Emily (late 20s, she/her), Scout’s girlfriend, seems uneasy. Meanwhile, CJ (late 20s, she/her) and Jane (mid-20s, she/her) watch the drama unfold, trying to stay out of it. As the séance begins, Scout stumbles upon a shocking secret, Emily and Willa had an affair. Before they can process it, strange things start happening, and Scout realizes they are the only one who can actually see Willa’s ghost. As Willa stirs up chaos, taunting Scout and pushing tensions to a breaking point, the group’s friendships unravel, leading to a dramatic and absurd showdown.

Dexter Reed is down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails. Ed welcomes Dex back to Good Burger with open arms and gives him his old job back. With a new crew working at Good Burger, Dex devises a plan to get back on his feet but unfortunately puts the fate of Good Burger at risk once again.
