The sudden death of his father will take Macius the enormous responsibility that comes with being king, despite having only nine years. After being introduced as the new king, he will have the power to change the world and the things he does not like. Although his main enemy, General, will try by all means to avoid Macius performing a good job as sovereign, the young king has some good friends to help him in everything he needs. Animated feature, as the German animated series of the same name, is based on the book "King Matt the First" by Janusz Korczak', a famous doctor and teacher of children.

The beautiful world of Gaya is home to two similar humanoid species: Zeldons who are the furry majority residents, and Snurks, who are goblin-like outcasts. But suddenly all Gayans are facing imminent danger when a magic stone which protects their world, "the Dalamite", is beamed away by a mysterious force. Three Snurks immediately go after it, hoping to be the heroes for once. They are shortly followed by some standout Zeldons: Zino the trouble-prone popular guy & his sidekick, clever but somewhat cowardly inventor Boo, as well as rebel princess Alanta. Their journey ends up leading them all on a dangerous interdimensional quest to find the stone, while they must also figure out a way to get back to Gaya.

The film deals loosely with the adventures of the grizzled Gustav who captains a ship – a giant floating ‘snailboat’ – with a crew of talking animals and lumbering sailors in blackface. It unspools like a perverse children’s story book, all at once cuddly cute, grotesquely obscene and beyond absurd as normal narrative logic shatters, giving way to an episodic, free-associative structure that one critic likened to “cinematic memory association.” (joergbuttgereit.com)

There is good reason for Sir Douglas Wonderly to summon the family and a lawyer to his stately home. He wants to announce a change in his will. The landowner Klapproth would love to have his nephew Alfred, whom he promises to support financially to set up a business, show him the inside of an insane asylum and experience real lunatics. Alfred's friend Ernst Kissling recommends that he show his uncle the Pension Schöller, whose guests are rather eccentric. Landowner Klapproth, who really does think the guests are lunatics, has a great time. However, the situation escalates when Klapproth returns to his estate and is visited by these supposed lunatics.
