In rural northeastern Brazil, a man finds a mysterious net full of money in the middle of the street. However, when paying what he owes to a farmer, a series of problems begin to arise for him and his wife Sofia.

Countryman J.K. gets annoyed and quits his job on a farm when his boss sends his pet cow to a slaughterhouse in town. In search of the animal, J.K. goes to the city and, there, is harassed by several single women.
