In 50 years anniversary of the first film about The Olsen Gang appeared in Danish cinemas. The film series and its beloved characters are described in this documentary with selected film clips and through a mix of old archival footage and new interviews. The Olsen Gang forever! is an entertaining tribute series' cinematic universe, which has long since become Danish people's property and part of common cultural heritage.

Egon escapes from the psychiatric ward, where he has been incarcerated since the gang's last coup. Keld and Benny pick him up, and when Egon, as always, is planning the big heist, the Olsen Gang is once again on the move.

Everything is normal with the Krumborg family – but when you know them, nothing can surprise you anymore. The two robbers Boris and Ivan want to kidnap Krumme. Krumme wants to learn to ride a horse. Fagin is the bad bird of an otherwise idyllic forest. He assaults the nest of two wrens and destroys all their eggs except one that, when hatched, is adopted by an owl (patterned on W. C. Fields). A counter-offensive against Fagin is launched with help enlisted from a seagull named Armstrong, two nice mice and a sparrow. There is romance, too, and a jazzy score goes with this animated ornithology extravaganza.
