A dashing warrior's fighting prowess makes the Khan realize that it is better that such a person be an ally instead of the enemy.

The Turkish Sultan decides to send his armies in war against the remnant of the Roman Empire, Byzantine. All of his advisory council assent to the move with the exception of one aged councilor, who allies himself with the Byzantines, who kidnap the fiancée of the Turkis army leader. The Sultan orders the army leader, along with two others, to proceed to Byzantine for espionage purposes. There, they contact a couple sympathetic to the Turkish cause and, with their home as the base, gather information about the city's defenses. The Byzantines capture the couple and two of the Turks, leaving only the army leader to escape with the vital information. The Turks use it to make an easy conquest, ending the Roman empire, and creating the Ottoman empire.

The film depicts Namık Kemal's love for his country. The newspaper İbret, published by Namık Kemal and his friends, is shut down on the grounds that it incites the people to rebellion. Namık Kemal and his friends are sent into exile. On the ship they board to go into exile, Namık Kemal tells his friends about his play titled "Vatan" (Homeland). The play tells the story of Islam and Zekiye, who are in love with each other, and their struggle for their homeland. Islam forms a volunteer regiment to go to war. Zekiye joins the volunteers in male disguise, both to be close to Islam and to serve the homeland. Love for the homeland will bring Islam and Zekiye closer together.

Aysesin is the daughter of a Pasha known for opposing the Sultan. She sets out to go hunting with her fiance Kerim in Adapazari. Fettah, the Adapazari Police Commander, also has his eye on Aysesin. But she rejects his offer.
