A wealthy businessman tries to change his not so good sounding last name by marrying the heir of aristocratic family.

Due to bad weather, gymnast Katya Prokhorova, going to international competitions, ends up in her hometown of Razlelsk and, arriving at the school where she once studied, meets a young singing teacher and falls in love with him. A few days later she leaves, and upon returning from the competition, she confesses to him that she has fallen in love with someone else. Time passes. The singing teacher becomes a famous composer, but does not stop loving and waiting for Katya...

About the preparation and conduct of an expedition to the North Pole led by the famous explorer of the North, sailor and hydrographer Georgy Yakovlevich Sedov (1877-1914), organized by him in 1912 with private donations. The film is set in 1912-1914.
