The film tells the story of a mother who has lost her child. After losing her husband in a traffic accident, Güzin is left alone with her physically and mentally disabled son Sedat. She spends a long time looking for a caregiver to look after Sedat. All the caregivers she finds refuse to work because Sedat is disabled. Güzin locks Sedat in his room and leaves him alone at home while she goes to work. However, one day when she is called to the hospital for an emergency, she forgets to lock the door. When she returns, she finds her son’s lifeless body. All investigations determine that the death was the result of negligence. Therefore, Güzin is found guilty. However, Güzin, who does not believe the verdict, begins searching for her son’s killer.

The film tells the story of a mother struggling to make ends meet on her own. Rising unemployment in the country leads to the breakdown of many families. Saliha and Şevki, who live in a shanty town, are one such family. When Şevki's unemployment is compounded by gambling debts, things become even more difficult for the family. Unable to tolerate her husband's indifference, Saliha eventually kicks him out of the house. However, after working as a cleaner for a while, Saliha cannot make ends meet this way. She is forced to ask her old friend Emel, who works as a prostitute, for help.

Kara Bayram is a poor farmer living in a Turkish village with his wife, 3 kids (4th on the way) and his old mother Irazca Ana. They live on their own until another villager, Haceli who is backed up by the Mukhtar (local administrator of the Village) starts to build a new house right in front of their's. Kara Bayram and Irazca Ana do not accept these uninvited neighboors from the first day and unwanted events start right away.
