Amrum Island, Spring 1945. Katharina Thalbach is one of the few Germans to hold the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. This highest award from the French Ministry of Culture was bestowed on the actress and director in 2019. This award is no coincidence, as Katharina Thalbach and France have had a long relationship. The documentary shows her eventful life and work.
