After graduation, Vasu runs a college canteen, and music school and teaches music for seven years to make his living. His father is an IPS officer and he wants Vasu to appear for Civil Services examinations to take up an IPS career. But Vasu has different plans for his future. He dreams of becoming a musician and a singer

Selvarasu is the head of the family and his two brothers Thangarasu and Chinnarasu are ready to give up their life for him. The three brothers think the world of their sister Rasamani. A rich man from the neighboring village feels insulted when Thangarasu mishandles his son, and to take revenge, he makes Rasamani his daughter-in-law. Starting with taking away all of the brothers' wealth, he insults them at every opportunity while ill-treating Rasamani. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

A forest smuggle, lives in the jungle and smuggles sandalwood. He is also involved with other anti-social behaviour and forest controlling activities like robberies, dacoity, murders and drug pedalling. He consequently kidnaps an electrician Rahul and takes him to the jungle, forcing him to teach him how to make explosives. Rahul refuses to help create bombs and is subsequently falsely accused of murder. The rest of the story is about how Rahul proves his innocence to police investigators

Vijay (Arjun) is a hitman who works for Sundaramoorthy (Radha Ravi). He kills anybody for a price, other than women and children and he lives alone in an apartment. Pooja (Pooja), a young girl, studies in a boarding school and comes to her father's house for the holiday. Between her abusive father, selfish stepmother and an arrogant step-aunt, Pooja feels rather badly but she treasures her lovely little brother Dinesh (Mahanadi Dinesh). Pooja tries to befriend with Vijay but Vijay is not interested. Her father is a drug smuggler. One day, a corrupt police officer Jayanth (Raghuvaran) kills Pooja's family including her brother. Vijay decides to accommodate Pooja and Pooja compels him to teach her his skills as a hitman. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

Prabhu, a swindler, pretends to be in love with Pooja, a wealthy businessman's daughter, to steal an expensive diamond. He soon meets Pooja's sister, Indu, and realises he is attracted to her.

A book that belongs to the Hindu god of death, Yama, accidentally drops to earth. This book can be used to kill or save any human's life by writing his/her name in one of the pages of the book. Gopi, a young man, gets a hold of the book and abuses its powers for his selfish needs. Chitragupta, Yama's assistant, misses a book which contains all the details of human beings. The book falls into a city in Tamil Nadu. Brahmadeva orders Yama to locate the book within one month. Chitragupta fears that if the book is seen by the human beings, chaos will happen.

Sakthivel, an honest police officer, beats up the son of a politician. Following this, he is promoted and transferred to a village, but his promotion only lands him in trouble.

Ayyanar is a kind-hearted person and kulfi street vendor. One day, out of pity Ayyanar gives refuge to a girl suffering amnesia and behaving like a child. Ayyanar and Aatha who is like his own mother take care of her. Ayyanar names the girl "Nila". In the meantime, the medical student Subha falls in love with Ayyanar. Living with a woman without getting married is not well seen, so Ayyanar and Nila get married. Afterward, Ayyanar and Nila live happily, Nila becomes pregnant. After her delivery, Nila regains her memory and is transferred in a better hospital. Nila sees her family and her fiancé. The real name of Nila is Ramya. She lived with her parents in Delhi and she was engaged to Ramesh. An earthquake struck and they were all separated, her family thought that she was dead. When Ayyanar comes to see his wife, Nila in the first place rejects him but she then decides to live as "Nila" with Ayyanar and their newborn baby. What transpires next forms the rest of the story.

Manikkam saves a rich man's life who, in return, offers him a job. However, problems ensue when the man's granddaughter, who hates Manikkam, accuses him of misbehaving with her.
