When a feisty village gossip ropes a visiting junior hockey team into her schemes, hoping one will notice her granddaughter, the resulting clash with the exasperated mayor and a hapless regional inspector sets off a chain of uproarious misunderstandings. All the while, an unconventional young priest with a mischievous name looks on in bemused bewilderment.

After the centenarian Trudy’s death, her inheritors refuse the scheming mayor’s bid to buy her lakeside estate for a car lot and instead set about renovating the allegedly haunted villa. Lojzička is a quirky princess from Enykytánie who is more interested in physical education and her parrot Ferda than in her princess duties. And to make matters worse for her parents, the water sprite Bonifác chooses her as his bride and threatens to destroy the entire kingdom. Lojzička refuses to give in, runs away to join a troupe of actors, and becomes a famous tightrope walker. However, she is unable to escape her fate—in the end, she must deal with both the water sprite and her role as future queen. Fortunately, she discovers true love, makes good friends, and also realizes that everything must be learned and that there is always a silver lining...

A good king rules this land, but still things are going from bad to worse. The point is that the greedy Minister of State has an interesting pact with the Devil — for bringing the kingdom into a state of dire poverty and the king to hell, he himself would sit on the throne. And he would have been well nigh successful, were it not for Princess Annie, Filip and magic Apolena — because true love cannot be quelled even by the Devil's machinations.

A bittersweet comedy starring the great Vlastimil Brodský as Fanda, an old man who refuses to grow up. Despite pleas from his exasperated wife who wants him to make serious decisions about the future, Fanda ignores the nagging and spends his days seeking amusement and adventure.

The story takes place at the beginning of the 20th century. Little Lojzík, whose mother was killed by lightning, lives on a farm with his father and an old farmhand. The harsh world has taught him to perceive images that remind him of his lost mother's embrace. He searches in vain among people for someone to whom he can once again become emotionally attached. He finds no support or security in his father, his mother's sister, or his stepmother Róza, even though she was the only one who showed compassion for the boy at the beginning of their life together. The only one who truly shares Lojzík's fate as an abandoned child is an ordinary chicken...

The devil and the water sprite, typical Czech characters, play the leading roles in today's fairy tale. They were invited to the castle by Lord Nesvít himself to help him win the hand of Lady Luzmila from the Cloud Kingdom. However, Nesvít is not so much interested in her as in her gold. But Luzmila is cut from the same cloth. And so the devil and the water sprite are there to find out who has a black soul and who needs help. But in the process, their magic causes a lot of confusion...
