After World War I, widower Renier has returned to his estate Horlebecq. His sole diversion is his correspondence with the Parisian Rolande, who he met during the war. Judy (Ann Christy, Cudgie's girlfriend, learns that the jockey has taken a bride to throw the race, so she replaces him and wins the stock-footage race from a Universal feature film.
