He therefore approaches a famous brain surgeon, Max Holst, who he hopes can help him with this problem. When Max refuses, Steinmetz brings his doppelgänger into being to replace him.

The von Ramborgs, a couple who own a big estate, are having some serious money issues. Their estate is run by a bunch of talented folks. The count's nephew Frantz shows up at the estate and immediately falls for Louise, who's the daughter of the estate manager. The maid Marie falls for Frantz, while the handyman Fritz is into Marie. In addition to these complications, two swindlers arrive at the estate. They want to try to cheat von Ramborg out of his estate. However, von Ramborg gets help from Marie and Havermann, who is the estate manager.

A sort of forerunner to Hollywood's Boogie Nights (1997), this Danish melodrama is set in the world of strip clubs. A medical student (Frits Helmuth) earns money for tuition working in a burlesque joint. He falls for one of the girls (Malene Schwarz), but she is also involved with a movie director (John Price). The director and Helmuth get into a philosophical debate about love and Darwinism, and the film ends with a duel (the film's title). Duellen was met with mostly incomprehension when it premiered and is no more lucid when viewed today. The striptease scene featuring full-frontal nudity is tame by modern standards.

An unsuccessful animal impersonator wants publicity and feeds an overly eager journalist a story. The impersonator says he is going to Africa to roar like a lion, and people believe him. The front-page sensation spreads to the foreign press, and in the end, the poor liar has to take out his savings and travel to Africa to prove that the lie was true enough.

Ullabella is a dreamy teenager who is in love with her teacher. But one day, when she refuses to do as he says, he slaps her. Ullabella tells her family about it, and then the case begins. Ullabella's mother and uncle, who is a politician, take the case all the way to the political level and demand at least an apology from the teacher. He refuses to give one, but a solution to the case is found nonetheless.

Here is the film that all travel-loving Danes should see—and nod in recognition at all the funny episodes that arise when very different Danes go on vacation to Munich, Tyrol, Rome, and Venice with the dream of the adventure trip of a lifetime. The group is a festive mix: some perpetually dissatisfied, the always happy, young and old, single and a couple of womanisers, etc.
