Kenji Fukuma, who was active as a poet, film director, and critic, passed away in April 2023. This is his seventh feature film as a director. The film depicts the interaction between a 77-year-old former sailor who lost his wife and a 2nd-year middle school girl who longs for freedom from her family and school.

At midnight, in a residential area of Osaka, a middle aged man is murdered. The person who killed the man is a high school student. En is a 2nd grade high school student. She spends her boring days with her friend Kotoko, who tends to change boyfriends frequently. Kotoko falls in love with Narihira at first sight. Narihira is a soccer player at their high school. Since then, the relationship between En and Kotoko changes.

Sayuri, a coffee shop waitress, uses her supernatural powers to help those who are troubled by spiritual phenomena. She gradually gets involved in serious matters, eventually facing a fierce battle with the devil.

Mamoru Miyamoto is a book editor and his friend Masao Muraoka is a writer. Muraoka hasn't released a novel since "Aki no Riyuu." Masao has suffered from mental health issues and, because of this, his voice fails. The two men talk through written notes. It seems Mamoru believes in Masao’s talent as a writer and waits for him to write a new novel, but he also likes Masao's wife Misaki. One day, Miku, who has read Masao’s last novel “Aki no Riyuu” several times, appears in front of him. She tells him that she is so similar to the heroine of the novel and can understand his mind.

Kudo receives a video shot by a job-hopper named Sakurai. The video shows a beautiful woman who visits the side of a river in the countryside. Sakurai has fallen in love with her and visits her home, but it's there he witnesses a terrifying scene.

Kyoko, a high school teacher, was kidnapped and confined by a rapist named Seigo. Seigo steals Kyoko's personal information from her computer and kidnaps a female student named Miho. Thus begins the days of hell for the two of them. While alternately raping Kyoko and Miho, Seigo's magic hands are also directed at his classmate Junko. However, it was a forbidden act that exposed a certain "secret" that Kyoko and Miho were afraid of.
