The beginning of the 1960s, a period of aggravation of the confrontation between the USSR and the USA. In the most difficult weather conditions and with malfunctions on board, the first Soviet nuclear submarine K-3 sets off for a hike under the ice of the Arctic Ocean in order to surface exactly at the North Pole.

Summer of 1942. A fierce battle begins near Stalingrad, the outcome of which will decide the fate of the whole world... Twenty-year-old sergeant Lubomir Zukh, who has not yet smelled gunpowder, left his unit in the frontline zone to say goodbye to his girlfriend.​ He was out of the unit for only three hours!​ But according to the laws of wartime, he is a deserter. In 1942, Red Army officer Nikolai Kiselyov receives orders to evacuate over 200 Jewish women, children, and elderly men facing brutality and death in Nazi-occupied Belarus.
