Former Vietnamese soldier Nguyen Dich (Chow Yun-Fat) comes to HK after the Vietnam war, as a professional killer for a gang leader. Here he meets and falls in love with Vicky Lee (Rosamund Kwan). He is ordered to kill her father, and later given the order to kill her too as she started to suspect him. She then discovers that he is responsible for her fathers death...

Two young lovers, Yun Keng and Ching Shuang belong to opposing clans. Their relationship is a secret for a time. Once Master Diao, head of the Great Banner Clan, learns of this treachery he must execute his son by way of quartering. Ti Zhong Tang as well as Yun's hot headed brother, Yun Zheng try and coax the old man out of having his son put to death but to no avail. Just before the act is carried out, Ti knocks Yun Keng unconscious and he is willingly replaced by one of his brothers who is quickly killed. Master Diao and Ti swear to reveal the truth to no one. Ti vows to locate the whereabouts of the beautiful Ching Shuang so the two can be reunited in the hopes that their love will one day rebuild the Great Banner Clan.

Here Chang Siu Tai is the son of Master Chang, a renowned chiropractor bone-setter operating a clinic in a poor neighborhood in an unidentified city in early 20th century China. Siu Tai works for his father and studies bone-setting and kung fu under him, but gets into lots of trouble, especially after white foreigners and their westernized Chinese enablers descend on the town in hopes of acquiring a valuable statue of the Goddess of Mercy on display at a local Buddhist temple.

Big Nose Pao is a faithful and honest constable that has been tasked to arrest Three Hands, a pickpocket. However, each time the pickpocket is caught, he's released by the lack of evidence. Although Three Hands steals for a living, the money that he takes from the rich people, is spent on the seven poor orphans with whom he lives in an old shaky church.

This mystery-tinged 'Martial Arts World' epic was one of director Chu Yuan and novelist Ku Lung's last together for the Shaw Studios, but it's another action-filled winner. Liu Yung and Sun Chien team to investigate the martial arts murders of a supposedly mortally wounded swordsman, only to find deception, death, double-dealings, imposters, and one deadly duel after another. No less than three choreographers are on hand to handle the multitude of magnificent martial arts.

Danny Chan stars as a rich kid, Po, who excels in music. Without the support of his father, who thinks his younger brother Paul (Paul Chung) is doing much better, Po decides to launch his music career alone. On the contrary, Wing (Leslie Cheung) comes from a poor family, but he lies to friends about that.
