In 1967, de Andrade was invited by the Italian company Olivetti to produce a documentary on the new Brazilian capital city of Brasília. Constructed during the latter half of the 1950s and founded in 1960, the city was part of an effort to populate Brazil’s vast interior region and was to be the embodiment of democratic urban planning, free from the class divisions and inequalities that characterize so many metropolises. Unsurprisingly, Brasília, Contradições de uma Cidade Nova (Brasília, Contradictions of a New City, 1968) revealed Brasília to be utopic only for the wealthy, replicating the same social problems present in every Brazilian city. Created by Haroldo Costa in 1956, "Brasiliana" was a Brazilian musical with a repertoire of Black music that toured the world, visiting more than 90 countries between the 1950s and 1960s. Bringing Afro-Brazilian music, dance, and culture to international audiences at a time when Brazil was still synonymous with "samba, football, and beautiful women," the show helped present a more authentic image of the country's culture to the world.

"Pelo Brasil" is the third DVD of the Brazilian musical group Banda Calypso, released in September 2006. The band invests in a major project for a tour in 5 capitals and for each one to make a stretch for a CD / DVD. The capitals chosen were Brasília, Recife, Salvador, Rio de Janeiro and Belém. In each show of the project, a section of the show would be recorded, with a musical block chosen for each city and after the block was closed, they would continue with the show for the public gift.

The ProVídeo Uesb team had access to the backstage, testimonies from the team, actors and director Walter Sales, keeping unique moments from one of the most emblematic films of what came to be known as Cinema da Retomada. A project carefully thought out by cultural producer Jorge Melquisedeque, the video ended up not being produced by him - who would die in 2001. All the raw tapes were rescued in 2002 and edited with the script by Marcelo Lopes (based on Jorge's chronicles about the period) and directed by Esmon Primo for the tribute program to the 10 years of the Indiscreet Window Cine Vídeo Uesb Program.

Meant principally for a sympathetic audience, whether Catholic or not, this routine story about a priest's receiving the call to the cloth may be a bit slow and theatrical for some viewers. Directed by Lima Barreto, the tale is told in a series of flashbacks as the priest remembers how he was transformed as a child into a person willing to give his life in service of the church and his God. Barreto also scripted the story, which in the end, may be too filled with religious platitudes and preachy overtones to effectively convey its message.
