Top Scottish comedian Kevin Bridges hosts this very special night of comedy live from Glasgow's legendary Theatre Royal to celebrate the Commonwealth Games coming to the city. Kevin takes to the stage in front of a live theatre audience to present four internationally-renowned comics from the Commonwealth countries. Appearing on stage are Canada's finest Katherine Ryan, top South African comedian Trevor Noah, Scotland's own Danny Bhoy and English comic Simon Evans.

In the presence of senior members of the Royal Family, Fergal Keane and Reeta Chakrabarti present live coverage from Westminster Abbey in London of a special service for Commonwealth Day celebrating the Platinum Jubilee. The work features a portrait of his father’s mother, Clorine Morthem, Dhungatti people, at the centre. In this documentary, Blak Douglas shares his experiences of tracing his grandmother’s story. Beginning with old family photographs, he follows his grandmother’s life back to the Cootamundra Girls Home, where she became a Ward of the State, stripped of her name, language, family and culture and forced into servitude. At the NSW State Archives, he unearths the harrowing machinations of a system that deliberately fragmented his family.

The closing ceremonies of the "friendly games" feature the athletes gathering to — as the official song's chorus put it — "join together". Four directors joined together to work on it: Arthur Everard, John King, Paul Maunder and Sam Pillsbury.
