It has been exactly 100 years since Marcel Duchamp exhibited his famous work Fountain, which basically was a mere urinal. Its replicas have been implicated in a number of affairs when people visiting exhibitions in museums around the globe were trying to give the work its original purpose by force. At the 100th anniversary the question poses itself: What if somebody returned it to the toilet, is it then still a work of art?

Fountain is a video that originated from a live performance of drinking water from a mirror. The image of confronting one’s own image recalls Narcissus, the Greek god that fell in love with his own image without recognizing it as his own, in some way being a splitting of the interior and exterior selves. In Fountain the image attempts to become whole again by drinking in the image of itself.

The town leaders of an Austrian mountain village conspire to attract tourists by touting a mythical "fountain of love" that runs nearby the village. When the minister of tourism discovers this, she immediately sends her agents to check out the veracity of the potentially scandalous water. After the village mayor declares a 3-day ban on sexual activity, he then plugs up the fountain. When the agents come, they find nothing. One of the agents wants to have his boss come and check it out personally, but changes his mind after he drinks some of the water. It really is an aphrodisiac! Soon tourists are arriving by the hundreds to sample the mysterious water. Unfortunately, the minister finds out and claims the water for the state.

A treasure-hunting mastermind assembles a team for a life-changing adventure. But to outwit and outrun threats at every turn, he'll need someone even smarter than he is: his estranged sister.

Does air temperature really matter for fountains to be frozen or melt? One just need to stop and look around... It's a mosaic of several interrelated characters in search of their own happiness. It's about hopes and disapointments, betrayal and forgivness... and of course it's all about love...
