Yet there are hints for a way back in this age of surveillance.

Shōjo☆Kageki Revue Starlight -The MUSICAL- The Wartime of Farewells is a stage play that was held at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Stellar Ball in Tokyo. The play is written and directed by Akiko Kodama, and is a stage adaptation of The Wartime of Farewells, an original play performed by Seisho Music Academy in the mobile game Shōjo☆Kageki Revue Starlight Re LIVE, described as "a medieval war chronicle that depicts two knights caught between their love of country and friendship."

The critically acclaimed all-woman Japanese acting revue Takarazuka brings Rurouni Kenshin to life, creating a new twist on a globally loved story.

The scene is set at Billy Rose's Casa Manana Revue, filmed at the Fort Worth Frontier Fiesta (1937), an enormous production created as part of the Texas Centennial civic celebrations. The opening song, "The Night Is Young And You're So Beautiful" emanated from the first edition of the Revue and became a hit song on two continents in 1936.

Appearing before the bewildered Stella is none other than Mikoto Aragami, her old rival from her time in Munich, Germany... "Stella Takachiho. I will steal everything from you, and play Salome."

A Madrid theater is looking for girls for a new company of revue shows. One of the girls presented is Catalina, very sawy and restless, daughter of a seamstress of the theater. Another candidate is an innocent girl who studies ballet abroad and is the daughter of a famous star, Cecilia Alcaraz. Soon the two girls become good friends and Catalina intends to succeed Alice. Seiran General Art Institute Stage Department Performance Major third years Koharu Yanagi, Suzu Minase, and Hisame Honami aim for greater heights, with Koharu as the chief and Suzu and Hisame as the sub-chiefs. The strict teacher Kyoko Yakumo tells them, "This year's new students won't be easy to deal with." Five students among the first years stand out as soon as school begins: Ruri Shimotsuki and Oto Namioka from the Stage Department Performance Major, and Nanaha Akemitsu, Kei Shidara, and Nagomi Koromoya from the General Studies Department. Many students were roused after seeing them break school regulations and put on a performance in their own style without permission, and the school is abuzz from the event. Koharu and the others are hit with an unexpected shock seeing the girls behave in a way that flatly rejects Seiran General Art Institute's "ideology". In order to find "their reason for being here" and "their true selves", they clash over differing values.

The stage emulates life and compresses it, setting free skills learned over lifetimes in brief but dazzling displays for the amusement and judgment of others. For the performers, it is the ultimate risk, and some will rise while others must fall. Nowhere is this truer than at the Seisho Music Academy, where music, dance and real weapons all come into play in the creation of the next great Star. Karen and Hikari’s destinies have been linked since a childhood promise, but their journeys here have taken very different paths. Now, after Hikari leaves, Karen must discover who she is without her opposite, while Hikari must rediscover her own course. Nor are they the only girls who must reassess and change if they want to achieve their dreams, as the dance, magic, and swordplay continue!

It features a young, pre-stardom 13-year-old Judy Garland singing "La Cucaracha" with her two sisters (billed as "The Garland Sisters"). In the film, Hollywood stars participate in a Mexican-themed revue and festival in Santa Barbara. Andy Devine, the "World's Greatest Matador," engages in a bullfight with a dubious bovine supplied by Buster Keaton, and musical numbers are provided by Joe Morrison and The Garland Sisters.
