Hao and Mad, two homeless kids living on the streets, grow up in a city where they have witnessed the atrocities of the Eagle gang led by Phad and the King Cobra gang led by Kriang. Living large, these two gangs rule the city by their huge manpower, collecting protection fees from merchants, gambling dens and prostitutes. One day. Tubtimtuay (Captain 9 lives) recruits Hao and Mad to elp the police and trains them to fight and kill with martial eapons. Afterward Thapthimthuai has each of them each gang, Hao in Phad's Eagles and Mad in Kriang's King Cobras, with the goal of pitching the two gangs against one another so they kill off each other until their numbers are low enough for the captain to take them down.

Tom Travis, a bad man, comes to New Mexico. He sees Vicky, the sheriff's daughter, playing a part for a motion picture company. The action calls for Vicky to be overcome by the villain and thrown on a horse. Tom, not understanding the action, blazes away at the villain, and the bullet passes through the actor's hat, chasing the horse upon which Vicky is riding. Tom, coming up with Vicky, believes he has saved her. The director and Vicky's father think Tom a great actor. The sheriff, however, discovers that Tom has the reputation of a "bad" man, and orders him to stay away.

Filmed in documentary-style, the film follows the character of Gringo, a young man looking for fortune in New York, only to fall into heroin addiction.

Remy is a medical student who has a flair for making his patients comfortable. His genuine concern for the patients in his charge marks him as a hot prospect in his internship program. Pamela works at a children's book publishing company. The two meet via Pamela's brother, who is also Remy's good friend. They fall in love and get an apartment in the East Village of New York. Soon after, the couple begins to indulge in speed and barbiturates. They become heavily addicted. Remy is thrown out of medical school and Pamela quits her job. Remy soon finds himself in debt with the local dealer, Stutter, who introduces his customer to heroin as a revenge for his late bill. Pamela faces the prospect of getting sober at her brother's clinic, but must leave behind a destitute Remy in order to do it.
