On 31st Street is a modern day "American Dream" story. Christina is a young girl that leaves Greece with the premonition of finding a better life in New York, but instead runs into some misfortune. Paralleling her misfortune, Alex, a young struggling actor has one friend that remains true to him, Irene. Irene has a good heart and in fact is the one that finds Christina. She is the link between these two people's lives.
The series revolves around the lives of two families. The Moustoxidis family is from a poor neighbourhood and working class, however their young daughter, Betty, wins a reality singing show and ends up a superstar with the family becoming very rich. They move in next door to the Papapavlos family who are sophisticated Athenians.
The handsome and popular Spyros, born and raised in western Attica, meets and falls in love with the spoiled and very rich Lisa, who is used to always getting what she wants. When the two young people manage to come together and admit the intense feelings that bind them, they will find themselves faced with two entire worlds. And that is where their love is tested and proves that its power, when it is true, stands above prejudices and stereotypes...
