When Keisuke Nakamura was a high school student, his mother was accused of killing a girl and then his mother committed suicide. 12 years later, Keisuke Nakamura tries to find the girl's real killer and also take revenge upon those responsible for his mother's suicide. He targets people from the media who covered the case and he crosses paths with sisters who hold a key to what happened. Keisuke Nakamura falls in love with one of the sisters.

Travel and history reporter Asami Mitsuhiko visits Kamakura for an interview, where he meets Tanno Nao, the daughter of the head of the Tansho school of flower arrangement. Mitsuhiko is drawn to Nao's lively expression as she enjoys surfing. Meanwhile, the head of the Tansho school of flower arrangement, which has been in existence for over 250 years, has announced to Nao's father and son-in-law Hiroyuki that he will hold a New Year's succession ceremony for the next Iemoto at the first ikebana ceremony. Meanwhile, Nao invites Mitsuhiko to take a stroll through the streets of Kamakura, and he is taken to a café by the sea, where he and the master, Makibara, learn of Nao's struggles with her birthplace and future. They also witness an encounter between Hiroyuki and Fuyue, the owner of an inn. Nao goes to Fuyue's place to find out the truth, but what awaits Nao is Fuyue's changed appearance.

Kyutaro is a swordsman who was feared by people at one time. Now, he is poor and lives alone quietly. Kyutaro doesn't know how to earn money without using his sword. By chance, Sakichi happens to see Kyutaro's swordsmanship and offers to hire him for a job.

Sky High is a live-action, supernatural Japanese television drama series, starring actress and model, Yumiko Shaku. It aired in Japan, first run, from 2003 to 2004, and was popular enough to spawn the 2003 feature film of the same name. Both are based on the Japanese manga, Skyhigh. Shaku stars as Izuko, the Guardian of the Gate to the afterlife. The basic premise of the television series is somewhat similar in concept to the American series, Ghost Whisperer, in which the protagonist must use her powers to guide the dead on their journey to the afterlife by helping them determine the meaning or circumstance of their death. However, in Izuko's case, no matter how hard she tries, her guidance does not always result in a happy ending.

Detective Ukyo Sugishita confronts crime on the basis of his own convictions. He has a partner that works for him in the Special Task Unit. For the first 7 seasons, Ukyo’s first partner is Kaoru Kameyama. He is a good-natured, hot-tempered, straightforward and somewhat scattered detective. Beginning in Season 8, Takeru Kanbe replaces Kameyama. Contrary to his predecessor, Takeru is a lanky, cool, conceited and confident detective. From Season 11 to Season 13, Ukyo’s partner is a young detective Toru Kai. Toru is a son of Deputy Director-General of The National Police Agency. But he became a detective by his own effort. And starting with Season 14, Ukyo’s current partner is Wataru Kaburagi, an elite bureaucrat who came to the Metropolitan Police Department on temporary assignment. As the first partner without any career of a police officer, he will face challenging cases together with Ukyo.
