In a small village in the Kanto regioin, which is surrounded by mountains, residents and a management consultant (Shosuke Tanihara) struggle to rebuild the village through its only industry, farming.

45-year-old Hiro Kamon works as a librarian because she loves books. Although she is worshiped as the "aloof beauty" and "ideal female" for her beautiful, gentle smile and amiability, she actually dislikes people. Hiro has been hurt countless times, and Chōji, the only guy she loved wholeheartedly in university, also fled in one night. She has become a person who no longer believes in love and has decided to live alone for life. But she ends up acting as a "fake married couple" with Chōji, whom she happens to meet again, for the sake of his mother, Teruno, who has been given a short time to live.

Kiyo is a female school student in Saga Prefecture, Japan. She admires nurses and wants to be helpful to her nation. Kiyo decides to become a war nurse. She undergoes strict training and finally graduates from nursing school. Kiyo then gets her draft notice and leaves for Manchuria, China. Everyday, she takes care of injured soldiers. A Japanese immigrant in Manchuria, Wataru, brings two injured people to her. One person is Hikaru d the other injured person is a native Chinese person named Son. Kiyo persuades Army Surgeon Hideyo to treat Son and he does so in secret. Lieutenant Colonel Kisuke soon discovers about the treatment.

University student Sugishita Nozomi, Naruse Shinji, Ando Nozomi and Nishizaki Masato end up coming upon the scene of the murder of the Noguchi couple, because of a plan they had devised. Nishizaki is arrested at the scene and is given a 10-year prison term because of his voluntary confession. 10 years later, Takano Shigeru, a former police officer who has misgivings about the verdict of this case, starts to pursue the truth. He is convinced that it all began as a result of an incident caused by Nozomi and Naruse on an island in the Seto Inland Sea in the summer 15 years. “They committed a crime at that time. It was for the sake of each N.”

This drama follows the staff of an Italian restaurant and their everyday struggles. “Roccabianca” is a famous and popular Italian restaurant, but their head chef and owner Tatsumi suddenly collapses and the restaurant loses its unique flavor. The number of customers rapidly declines, but the owner’s daughter and deputy manager Saori happens to find another chef named Ezaki through an online job market who learned cooking at the same place her father did. Ezaki becomes the new head chef of this restaurant and while nobody can deny that he is a gifted chef, it’s his extreme rationalism that doesn’t exactly go well with the restaurants attempt to save its traditional flavor.
