Xiao Qiao, a clever girl from the Qiao family, marries Wei Shao, the brave and kind master of the Wei family. Despite initial wariness due to ancestral grievances, Xiao Qiao and Wei Shao navigate their relationship with humor and determination. Dr. Ko creates two quantum AIs, Black and White, designed to grow alongside his cryogenically frozen son and form a unique friendship. As they navigate Q18, Black and White gradually learn about human nature, consciousness, and emotions. By connecting the quantum computer with the human brain, they help the boy with cryogenic syndrome experience love and friendship. However, as this utopian existence takes shape, Dr. Ko fears that technology has spiraled out of control and decides to destroy Black and White, leading to an intense conflict with his son.

The story starts in 1937 when the war against the Japanese aggression broke. It revolves around Zhang Han Shi/Zhang Song Ling who is a simple man born into a family of scholars. On the eve of his wedding, his wife and family were murdered but he luckily survived. He then embarked in his quest for revenge joining the communist party and the mounting anti-Japanese resistance. Adapted from the novel of the same name by the writer Jiu Tu.

The drama is shot from the perspective of women and tells a story about finding light in the darkness and embracing hope in motherhood. Lin Xu Zhi is a woman who doesn’t have a past. She was adopted and is still scarred from being abandoned by her birth mother. She’s an elementary school teacher that realizes one of her female students is receiving abuse from her mother. Her maternal instincts kick in, and she impulsively decides to bring the girl into her own care. In caring for the young girl, named Xiao Ou, two broken souls find solace in each other.
